What does existential bread think about?

What: Flour Power has been closed since the recent demonic invasions and the barrier going wonky. It's the grand re-opening! Bring your sweet tooth because Everyone is invited!
Where: The bakery is located in the Gardens of Pleasure where it borders the Tower and Leisurebrook districts.
When: Friday July 27th. 7pm to whenever'ish!

Flour Power was located in the Gardens of Pleasure where it met two other districts, the Tower and Leisurebrooke. The location had worked out for her. The foot traffic was high and Kate had capitalized on the public's desire for sweet treats. As good as business had been, however, Kate had been forced to close.

When the barrier protecting the City had fractured, demand for cupcakes had fizzled. People were fighting for their lives or trying to protect other lives. With supply lines cut, Kate didn't have a choice but to close. She used what she had left to bake bread and small treats for the various shelters that had popped up. Warm bread and a slice of something sweet went a long way towards boosting morale.

Kate and Flour Power had been luckier than most. The damage was mostly cosmetic. The windows had either been shattered or busted. The security fence that surrounded the entrance had been halfway ripped off. When Kate had visited the bakery after the fighting had ceased, she had found the bakery filled with overturned chairs, debris was everywhere and the display counters needed to be replaced or repaired. In short, it had been a mess.

That was all behind them now. (Right?)

(OTA) CONTEST - NAME THAT CUPCAKE (2)

After greeting people by the door, Kate will attempt to guide most people towards the cupcake contest that was the left of the main entrance. She had three cucpakes placed underneath bell jars with a plaque and its number in front of it. The display cupcakes were of standard size but the free ones were in miniature. What good was naming a cupcake if you couldn't taste it or taste it twice?

There were plenty of little pencils and slips of paper to write name suggestions on. The suggestions went into a larger bell jar that had been turned upside down to collect the names. There was not going to be any further voting as Kate would pick the ones she liked best herself. It was a bake-tatorship not a bake-mocracy.

A dark chocolate cake with a surprise milk chocolate center that has been topped with a tripple berry buttercream along with a raspberry, blueberry and blackberry.

The cupcake starts with a milk chocolate cupcake with chocolate chips except instead of using water for the recipe, actual hot chocolate has been used instead. The cake is topped with a vanilla whipped cream frosting, mini marshmellows, chocolate chips, crushed candy canes, and a miniature peppermint candy cane.

At the entrance, also known as... MEET KATE! (OTA)

Kate stood at the door, ready to greet most if not all of her guests. To show her appreciation, Kate had a goody bag to give those attending. Each person would be gifted a bag of meringue cookies with a thank you note attached a coupon for a free cupcake. (That's how she lured people in. The first cupcake was free, then they'd have to pay.)

Glass counters ran down the side and length of the interior. They housed the various baked goods that Flour Power made and sold. Kate had not changed any of the decor. She liked it too much to change it but if it were possible, everything did look cleaner, shinier too.

There were two new people behind the counter. Both were locals and both were very polite and pleasant when dealing with customers. There was something slightly off about the two of them but like with Runas and Theryn, her bakers, Kate didn't mind any unusual quirks as long as they did their job.

There was plenty of food and drink.

Why have one style of table and chair when multiple options were available?

The seating area ran parallel to the long glass counters. There were a few different styles of chairs and tables. They didn't all match but they did coordinate. The various colors and materials used in them were echoed elsewhere in the decor. It was one of the few areas with actual color.
